Carrington College seeks an Adjunct Physics Instructor for our Las Vegas Campus. The Physics Instructor engages Carrington College students in a world-class learning experience as they prepare for a successful health-care career. Your contribution to their education will be essential as you share your skills, knowledge and experience to empower our students with the information, tools and resources to be successful. The typical course of instruction may include Physics with Lab (PHY 221):

In this conceptual survey of physics topics, students

gain appreciation and understanding of the physical

universe via conceptual instruction rather than

mathematical calculation. The phenomena of motion,

force, energy, matter, sound, electricity, magnetism,

light and the atom are covered. The class is taught in a

lecture/lab format.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Interacts effectively and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and external customers of Carrington College including Advisory Board members and externship and other off campus sites.
  • Exceptional customer focused skills. Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
  • Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others.
  • Solid writing skills to communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including ability to project voice and be clearly understood when speaking in front of a group.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and codes of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Commitment to the success of the students and the school.
  • Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 

 

Qualifications

 You are encouraged to explore this opportunity if you:

  • Earned a master's in Physics or a closely related Physical Science Degree with minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in Physics or Physcial Science. 
  • Have at least one year of teaching experience or have been told you’re a “natural” at teaching and helping others learn

  • Possess genuine passion education, and lifelong learning
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
  • Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community
  • Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution
