This PT Adjunct role is approx.16 hours per week. We are looking for someone to cover the following courses:

 

VN 201 Clinical meets Thursday and Friday 7:00a-3:30p for 16 weeks

VN 102 Clinical meets Monday and Tuesday 7:00a-3:30p for 13 weeks

Or

VN 101 Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology meets Thursday 4 hours for 13 weeks

 

* We currently don't have a need for evening or weekends, but may for our January session depending on student enrollment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Interacts effectively and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and external customers of Carrington College including Advisory Board members and externship and other off campus sites.
  • Exceptional customer focused skills. Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
  • Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others.
  • Solid writing skills to communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including ability to project voice and be clearly understood when speaking in front of a group.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and codes of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Commitment to the success of the students and the school.
  • Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications for an Instructor:

(1) a master’s degree in the designated nursing area; or

(2) a master’s degree that is not in the designated nursing area and shall:

 (A) Have completed thirty (30) hours of continuing education or two (2) semester units or three (3) quarter units of nursing education related to the designated nursing area; or have national certification in the designated nursing area from an accrediting organization, such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC); and

(B) have a minimum of two hundred forty (240) hours of clinical experience within the previous three (3) years in the designated nursing area; or have a minimum of one (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area within the previous five (5) years.

            

  • 3 years teaching and/or professional experience must be in the major or subject area of the program. 
  • At least 1-2 years field experience in Nursing
  • R.N. License active in California.
  • Must demonstrate competency in the assigned teaching field, such as academic or vocational training and credentials, related work experience, licensure, or certification.
  • Teaching and/or supervisory experience desirable.
