Our Carrington College campus is looking for qualified instructors to teach MBC (medical billing/coding) and MAA (medical administrative assistant) courses. The session starts Nov 13 but we have a need prior as our goal is to have the right people start by Oct 23 for a 3 week training.

Responsibilities

    • Highly organized and detail oriented.
    • Interacts effectively and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and external customers of Carrington College including Advisory Board members and externship and other off campus sites.
    • Exceptional customer focused skills. Ability to address student needs and resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.
    • Interpersonal skills including questioning, listening and showing concern and respect for others.
    • Solid writing skills to communicate effectively in memos, letters, and via email.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills including ability to project voice and be clearly understood when speaking in front of a group.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Possess a high degree of integrity and commitment to comply with policies, regulations, and codes of conduct governing all aspects of job responsibilities.
    • Commitment to the success of the students and the school.
    • Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Instructor requirements for MBC and MAA:

 

  • Required: Master’s degree completed – can be in any subject area.
  • Required: Candidates must have professional coding experience (not just teaching).
  • Strongly desired: Coding certificates; such as: CPC, CPC-I, ICD 10, MBC (various organizations, etc.).

  • Teaching experience is preferred although not required. We have a robust online training program. You must have a passion for education/teaching ( you can have training experience/mentoring/coaching).

* Virtual/Online – no set days and times (approx. 12 hours a week). Campus courses will have designated hours depending on the campus course offerings for each session. Must live near a Carrington College campus to teach onsite, but we are also open to those that want to teach virtually.
