    The Senior Specialist, Global Communications is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics in support of our internal communication efforts. This position is focused heavily on writing and includes developing a wide range of communications materials aimed at informing and engaging employees, as well as the execution of employee events. As part of the Global Communications team, he/she will be involved in the creation of employee email communications, newsletters, video scripts, talking points and content presented at employee events.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Plan, organize and write multiple aspects of employee communications ensuring the accuracy, readability and ease of comprehension of the information.
    • Assist in the development of targeted communications, including, but not limited to, emails, video scripts, presentations and newsletters.
    • Assist in the ongoing evolution of internal communications, including generation of new ideas.
    • Lead the charge on measurement and analysis, including producing surveys, gathering data and researching best practices.
    • Play a key role in executing the logistics of our executive-led organization update events and three-day TEACH Summit conference.
    • Organize and execute other Global Communications-driven employee events.
    • Provide a range of editorial and communications counsel to other departments, namely Human Resources, both strategic and tactical, as necessary.
    • Play a key role in executing employee events, including partnering on the development of presentations, talking points, speeches and visual concepts, along with managing event logistics.
    • Collaborate with a vendor partner on video production, staging, technical, webcast and other A/V needs and contracts and manages third-party service providers, accordingly.
    • Write and edit other materials and collateral for the Global Communications team.
    • Contribute to other key team projects, as required.
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    • A bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or related field required.

    • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

    • Experience successfully managing and producing large-scale meetings and events.

    • Public Relations and external communications experience a plus.

    • A high attention to detail, with an interest in usability and user experience and an emphasis on accuracy and quality.

    • Strong knowledge of grammar, punctuation and composition rules required for editing and proofreading material.

    • Superior planning, organizing and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong understanding of effective meeting and event design and execution, using innovative and modern techniques and tools to engage participants and support communication objectives.
    • A professional demeanor.
    • A strong work ethic and ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively work with people at all levels, including executives.
    • PC, mobile and web/online savvy-including full suite of Microsoft offerings
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
    • Able to meet tight deadlines and prioritize a varied workload in a fast-paced and demanding environment with several competing priorities.
    • Willing to learn new skills, expand knowledge, and adapt to technological and business.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels.
