    This position has overall responsibility for the human resources function for ACAMS Americas, providing strategic and operational guidance/expertise to the management team to ensure that the organization achieves its goals. Reporting operationally to the President and Managing Director of ACAMS and functionally to the VP of HR, Financial Services, formulates and manages the strategic processes like Talent Management, Internal Communications, Organizational Development, HR Strategy and supports the COEs in the areas of staffing, performance management, rewards, HR administration, labor relations, work organization, work environment and safety and security.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Responsible for ensuring the local human capital initiatives and operation plans support the organization business model, business strategy and its operational implementations.
    • Support ACAMS in becoming an organization recognized for a culture focused on its people, high performance standards, world-class leadership, and ability to manage change and drive to innovate.
    • Design, implement and manage local OD and HR processes, policies, systems and metrics to attract, retain and develop current and future employees and leaders. Implement a systemic competency-based approach ensuring internal consistency and alignment to business strategies.
    • Develop and implement programs for talent acquisition in close coordination with the TA COE: recruitment, testing, selection, orientation and job placement.
    • Work with management to define employee development needs in order to implement Training and Development plans and programs to meet the organization’s strategic goals and objectives.
    • Lead activity related to detecting, assessing and developing critical talent and leaders, including succession planning.
    • Develop and implement a human performance management system based on a MBO and competency model, with the subsequent performance management processes.
    • Develop and implement reward and recognition schemes according to Adtalem’s pay philosophy and local business needs.
    • Coordinate and monitor productivity metrics and compensation costs together with Finance to help achieve profitable growth goals.
    • Partner with ACAMS Communications and the Marketing teams to establish effective and timely internal communications to all employees, to ensure two-way effective information flow between the workforce and our management.
    • Manage the local work environment making sure that there are effective internal communication, employee engagement, legal and company code of conduct compliance, safety and security and labor relations processes.
    • Manage external relations representing ACAMS with regards to external HR vendors and consultants, prospect employees.
    • Create and embrace technology solutions to improve the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of our human processes.
    • Ensure customer-centric culture in the HR departments where integrity, total respect for people, high-quality service and a strong employee advocacy are the pillars of the department’s modus operandi with all employees.

     

    PROBLEM SOLVING:

    • This position is responsible for resolving any issues related to the organization’s human processes.
    • The incumbent has wide latitude in resolving problems and issues. They work with upper management, external resources, consultants, and all levels of the organization to resolve problems.
    • The incumbent must typically determine the selection of projects, project timeframes, project deliverables, and the general operation of these functions.
    • Requires a relentless focus on simple, cost-effective and company wide solutions.

     

    TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL & PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED:

    Managerial & People Skills: Change management, negotiation, project management, influence, teamwork, communication, decision making, leadership, goal setting, developing others.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree a plus.
    • A minimum of 10 years of broad-based HR experience required with exposure to multiple functional areas within HR.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, matrix organization.
    • Gets results; uses metrics effectively to evaluate people-related programs and drive improvement.
    • Possesses the influencing skills required to build commitment and persuade others to take appropriate action.
    • Builds trust and effective working relationships easily across a broad range of people and organizations.
    • Strong facilitation and training skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop win/win solutions.
    • Demonstrated mastery of employment law through professional certification (such as SPHR) or experience/training on the job.
    • Has a track record of confronting difficult HR issues and developing specific action plans to address them.
