    The Senior Marketing Director is responsible for creating and driving the strategic marketing direction for Chamberlain University while leading initiatives to execute on institution goals. The Senior Director manages the brand for existing programs, launches new programs, develops internal and external communications, and ensures session and yearly goals are achieved. In partnership with the marketing team, this position creates meaningful engagement for our customers through the entire lifecycle, including prospects, Chamberlain students and our alumni.

     

    Through management of the Chamberlain marketing team and our external agency partners, the Senior Marketing Director is responsible for establishing the team’s KPIs and measuring performance against those objectives. The Senior Director of Marketing also serves an important role on the Chamberlain executive team and the Adtalem Marketing Leadership team.  

    Responsibilities

    • Recruits, develops and motivates talent for the 25+ employee team. Creates a positive, collaborative, high performing team environment where all members of the marketing team contribute to accomplish objectives.   
    • Guides and directs the development of the creative work to support Chamberlain’s advertising and marketing efforts. 
    • Oversees all marketing communications including branding, print, collateral materials, direct marketing activities, special events, internal student communications and all online activities. 
    • Develops annual brand planning process and leads the overall development of marketing plans and strategy.  Successfully develops and executes marketing tactics and programs to deliver the strategy.
    • Assists in the identification and development of new market opportunities for product and service offerings and serves as marketing lead on new initiatives.
    • Leads the development/optimization of a motivating, relevant and differentiated positioning for the Chamberlain brand.  Ensures the positioning is articulated in a clear and consistent manner in all communication vehicles. 
    • Conducts market research to support Chamberlain initiatives, pricing, and branding. translates insights into meaningful strategies and tactics and implements as needed.
    • Partners with our Digital Center of Excellence to insure Chamberlain media objectives are being achieved; integrates best practices identified across internal network.
    • Builds strong, productive relationships with key functional areas across the organization.
    • Tracks, measures and evaluates the results of marketing programs in order to recommend and execute changes to the plan.  
    • Leads brand performance reviews, to ensure that brand strategies and performances remain on target in relation to overall corporate objectives. 
    • Develops and oversees efficient management of large marketing budget.
    •  Manages the activities of agency partners and vendors.
    •  Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in business or marketing.  MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years marketing experience including several years leading a team.
    • Substantial vendor management experience is required. Prefer experience with an annual billing of at least $5 million.
    • Excellent communications, presentation, writing and interpersonal skills are required.
    • Significant experience leading the development of brand positioning is highly desirable particularly in an entrepreneurial, fast growing organization.
    • Significant experience in digital marketing is highly desirable.  
    • Experience leading the creative development process for a major brand, including national campaigns.
