    As the Director of Data & Analytics Solutions you are responsible for leading, organizing and motivating a team of IT professionals in developing and delivering solutions for Database Technologies related to analytical and Business Intelligence initiatives. You have subject matter expertise in the functional areas of database technologies, data warehousing, Big Data platforms and strategies, business and data analysis, data sciences, strategic analytics and reporting / presentation.

     

    You create processes designed to gather and document organizational needs around data analytics and ensure the successful delivery of those solutions to the organization. You have the leadership and judgement skills to perform business analysis and collaborate with internal customers to develop strategies and solutions for high business value. Among your responsibilities, you ensure that solutions as defined are successfully delivered to institutional teams for ongoing analysis and support. Finally, your role requires that you lead project delivery of solutions from the concept to logical design phases in support of large corporate and business initiatives.

     

    You exhibit strong project/team leadership skills across a variety of audiences, subject areas and units and possess a cross-functional skill set - including experience in communications, business analysis, product management, project management, product development, process engineering, and information systems. You consistently demonstrate strong leadership skills to manage your cross-functional team of diverse capabilities and disciplines.

    Responsibilities

    • Engage with executives and functional leaders to understand data service’s needs.
    • Develop and maintain an enterprise data strategy and technology roadmap reflecting both customer needs and technology innovations.
    • Manage the day-to-day work activities of the team in the discharge of functional responsibilities.
    • Promote empowerment of the team to ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the work and making a meaningful contribution to business success.
    • Lead the development and support of advanced data techniques including data modeling, data access, data integration, data discovery, database design and implementation.
    • Plan the next generation of technology and services within the scope of Data Analytics and Database Technologies including selection, prototyping, piloting and transition to operations.
    • Manage vendors and service providers to maximize value.
    • Ensure compliance with security policies and assist in defining new policies or changes to existing policies related to new technology adoption.
    • Using ITIL service management principles, formulate metrics and key performance indicators for delivery and operation of services and functional areas.
    • Prepare and manage budgets, including service cost analysis modeling.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's and/or advanced degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or Statistics/Mathematics.
    • 6-8 years of experience with data analysis, data validations, data integration/ETL technologies and/or business analysis.
    • Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation technologies a plus.
    • Experience with Data Integration/Business Intelligence projects within the education and ecommerce industries a plus.
    • Experience with complete project lifecycle in this area, including but not limited to requirements gathering, data analysis, design, development, testing and data validation.
    • Experience with any of the leading Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools (Informatica, Snowflake, Alooma) would be preferred.
    • Applicable experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Cognos, PowerBI, etc…), data modeling tools (ER/Studio, Erwin) and strategic analytics tools (R, SAS).
    • Experienced and successful professional services/consulting background would be preferred.
    • Strong analytical, attention to detail, organizational and core project management skills.
    • Demonstrated experience with leading and developing a team of people.
    • Ability to provide thought leadership as you help our grow our business units.
    • Working knowledge of education and ecommerce a plus.
    • Strong teamwork, communication and customer service skills.
    • Willingness to travel between up to 10%.
