    Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President, Investor Relations (IR) is responsible for creating a proactive, strategic, best in class investor relations function, developing and executing Adtalem’s global investor relations strategy and serves as the primary point of contact for the global investor community. The incumbent is accountable for creating and presenting a consistently applied and compelling investment message to the investor community on behalf of Adtalem, and for monitoring and presenting to management the opinions of the investor community regarding Adtalem’s performance. The incumbent will have strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and demonstrate thought leadership and the ability to cultivate relationships across Adtalem and the investor community.


    • Serves as a key advisor to the COO, CFO, CEO, and Board on the investor relations strategy
    • Develops and maintains a long-term strategically aligned investment thesis that is presented to the investment community focused on creating value-driving messages for the investor community.
    • Develops and maintains a strategic investor relations plan focused on high-level engagement with both current and potential investors, as well as optimizing management’s time spent on investor relations activities.
    • Performs a comprehensive competitive analysis, including financial metrics and differentiation.
    • Develops and monitors performance metrics for the investor relations function.
    • Establishes the optimum type and mix of shareholders and creates that mix through a variety of targeting initiatives.
    • Provides Regulation Fair Disclosure training to all company spokespersons.
    • Creates presentations, scripts, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, and investors, including preparing talking points and Q&A.
    • Assists with the production of annual reports, SEC filings, and proxy statements.
    • Manages the investor relations portion of the Adtalem web site.
    • Monitors research reports on the company and the industry and provides analytical summaries for senior management and the Board.
    • Cultivates and maintains relationships with and serves as the key point of contact for the financial media and investor community.
    • Provides feedback to management regarding the investor community's perception of how the company is being managed, its corporate strategy, and their view of its financial results.
    • Prepares senior leaders for meetings with the investment community and provides feedback/post event analysis.
    • Serves as a member of Adtalem’s Disclosure Committee, providing analysis and recommendations to improve disclosures and related processes.

    Completes other duties as assigned.


    The incumbent will have:

    • Demonstrated success leading an investor relations function, including the successful development and implementation of strategic, proactive IR plans that have delivered results.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates the ability to translate company strategies into crisp, persuasive, strategic messaging.
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skill set; ability to take large volumes of information and present it in a clear and concise manner to senior management, the Board and the global investor community.
    • Understanding of financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors.
    • Comprehension of macroeconomics, capital markets and trends, competitor activities, and key metrics for companies in the industry.
    • Knowledge of SEC laws and securities disclosure and filing requirements.
    • Builds strong relationships and work effectively/credibly with senior leadership. Carries a mature and commanding executive presence.
    • Ability to work in a matrix organization and make things happen without having to own all the resources; leverages shared resources to achieve results.
    • Cultivates, develops and maintains a strong network of investment community relationships, including investors, analysts, rating agencies and financial media.
    • Works across the broader finance, accounting, strategy, and innovation functions to understand and influence trends and incorporate this understanding into our external communications. Possesses clear emphasis on shareholder value, profitability and competitive advantage.
    • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required; Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years progressive financial, management and leadership responsibilities with extensive experience in shareholder communications.
