    This role works closely with colleagues and multiple institutions, shared operations leaders and institutional executives to strategize, and operationalize delivery of student and colleague. This position is an integral part of the team that will lead initiatives and performance manages service level agreements. The leader must analyze services, identify trends and propose solutions to drive improved business operations and metrics  The leader will also create and maintain an energizing, high-performance work environment reflecting Adtalem’s Shared Operations Center of Excellence values, a collaborative team-based culture, and world-class service mindset.
    This position oversees and directs the operations management of multiple leaders and client functions. Is a subject matter expert and provides expertise managing or mentoring staff and partners.
     
    This role manages and directs all aspects of student advising, and account management.  
     
    The leaders responsible for developing and implementing the strategic vision for multiple institutions and their supported services as well as across services within the Shared Operations Center of Excellence

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible consulting with institutional stakeholders to identify and execute annual priorities
    • Primary liaison for the multiple academic institutions regarding client services.
    • Provides leadership to promote and maintain integrity, accuracy, and timeliness in the delivery of service and advisement to students/academic partners, ultimately ensuring a positive experience
    • Provides guidance to leaders on the team to ensure the group is appropriately staffed, including coaching leaders to be able to provide comprehensive interviews, hiring/promotion decisions, and ensuring all colleagues understand their role and responsibility
    • Evaluates effectiveness of student finance processes and develops continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the quality of services
    • Fiscally responsible for developing and managing department budget
    • Provides thoughtful leadership and develops strategies, goals and objectives in order to meet organizational strategic
    • Prepare department staffing and budget plans and maintain adequate staffing while remaining within service level
    • Counsels escalated student/academic partner concerns and strives to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
    • Manages and evaluates departmental metrics
    • Demonstrates and communicates current, detailed, and accurate knowledge of University policies, Title IV, Military/Veteran’s Affairs, international and state regulations to prospective/current students and academic partner. Communicates the policies and procedures in a manner that displays deep understanding of the rationale and the value of the policy or procedure to the student or academic partners. Ensure that colleagues have the needed tools and resources to assist applicants/students/colleagues with making informed decisions by providing accurate and helpful Student Finance counsel
    • Assist with designing and presenting any special reports/projects for senior leaders, accreditation and state/federal approval process
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s required. Master’s degree preferred
    • 5+ experience in the area of financial aid and policy required, preferably at a multi-level, multi-location educational institution
    • Prior people management experience required
    • Advanced knowledge of federal and state financial aid rules and regulations
    • Prior experience in managing a call center environment or student finance operational areas required
    • Student Finance experience required. Specifically, knowledge of principles, practices, methodology, and procedures for the provision of student financial aid and knowledge of federal and state financial aid laws.
    • Exceptional leadership, critical thinking, organization and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and work in a fast paced environment. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions without supervision or direction.
    • Proven ability to set deadlines and ensure projects are complete
    • Experience in budget preparation, financial modeling, and accounting management preferred
    • Excellent presentation skills and prior experience speaking in front of senior leadership
