As an HR Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to interact with colleagues at every level of the organization. The HR Intern will partner with HR Shared Services to help with a variety of responsibilities. This position is intended to help grow or launch a career within Human Resources.

    As part of HR Shared Services, you will play a critical role by assisting our colleagues with their human resources related needs, specifically the 2019 Benefit Open Enrollment. This is a 2-3 month internship, working 25-30 hours per week. 

    Responsibilities

    • Assist supervisor with managing the open enrollment process through the askHR Customer Service Centre.
    • Respond to benefit related inquiries via phone and email.
    • Assist colleagues navigating through the benefit portal.
    • Provide colleagues benefit resources and information.
    • Maintain high satisfaction scores on colleague surveys. 
    • Participate in projects and initiatives.   
    • Maintains professional attitude.
    • Administers and produces employment related reports critical to developing continuous improvement strategies.
    • Provides excellent customer service to colleagues and HR Business partners.
    • Pro-actively anticipates problems and addresses them.
    • Resolves issues/concerns with a “positive/can-do” attitude.
    • Administer daily scheduled system processes and reports from various systems.
    • Assists with system maintenance and support, including reviewing, testing and implementation of HRIS upgrades.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

    • Education - Working towards a BS or MS in Human Resources.
    • Minimum of 3.0 GPA required.
    • Experience in customer service, communication skills and eager to learn.  
    • Beginner to basic knowledge of human resources.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, and meet/exceed deadlines.
    • Basic ability to effectively build rapport/relationships via the phone and email.
    • Basic level computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
